An extensive 60-day voyage around the Land Down Under was terminated days after the tragic passing of an elderly female passenger who was left behind by the cruise liner on a remote island.

Suzanne Rees had been walking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but parted ways from the party for a break. The ship left without her and came back after some time after the crew discovered the passenger was not present.

A major rescue mission discovered her remains the next day.

Authorities are investigating the tragedy, together with investigators and the official investigator.

Chief Executive of the cruise operator stated that travelers and personnel on the vessel were notified that the remainder of the journey had been cancelled due to the "sad loss and earlier mechanical issues".
